Safety Monitor: F02 Certification Needed
The Safety Monitor will be directly responsible for all activities in the physical plant and ensuring civility amongst residents, visitors, and staff. He/She controls access to the facility twenty-four hours a day and will report any hazardous conditions within the facility and grounds to the Safety Supervisor on duty.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures all clients sign in & out of the facility when entering or leaving the building.
- Ensures clients sign the DOE School Attendance Roster when children are leaving the building to attend school.
- Distributes client mails and implements mail distribution procedures.
- Responds to client emergencies and implements incident reporting procedures.
- Escorts clients to social services program area.
- Assist in conducting initial intakes and assisting new families upon arrival to the facility.
- Assist the Shift/Safety Supervisor conduct fire drills.
- Conducts patrols and registers patrol in Detex system. Reports to the Shift Supervisor unusual activity and observations.
- Monitors CCTV camera system and reports to the Shift Supervisor observations made when monitoring the system.
- Documents shelter activity in the security logbook and completes reports as needed.
- Utilizing the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) - Client Assistance and Re-housing Enterprise System (CARES) complete incident reports as needed.
- May drive the facility van as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years’ experience in commercial and/or residential security services.
- Must have and maintain a valid NYS Security License.
- Must be certified for First Aid and CPR.
- Must have good communication/writing skills, experience working with women and children.
- Valid Driver’s License preferred.
- Must have F02 for employment.
- Must be willing to work additional shifts as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with great interpersonal skills.
